They laughed and swapped stories of their New Year&#8217;s Eve party the night before. As they thumbed through the menus, one of the wives suggested that, after the night they had, they should choose something healthy. Here is how that went: </p>
<p><em>-Husband</em>: Oh, she&#8217;s always trying to change me. I must not be good enough the way I am. She&#8217;s nagging me to be healthier.<br />
<em>-<em>Husband&#8217;s friend</em>: Yeah, well, I guess you can try to be &#8220;moderately healthy,&#8221; right? I mean, not go crazy about it, maybe cut out some fries.<br />
<em>-Wife:</em> It&#8217;s too late for &#8220;moderately healthy&#8221; for us, we&#8217;re too far gone.<br />
Silence.</p>
<p>These same conversations take place at tables everywhere. Here is the real message &#8212; if your loved one makes a suggestion &#8211; more vegetables, less alcohol, more exercise, less computer time, more sleep, less television &#8212; I can promise you, they aren&#8217;t trying to change you. They are trying to love you. </p>
<p>The question is, are you ready to love yourself enough to change? To change your habits and your health? And I don&#8217;t mean &#8220;moderately healthy&#8221; (that leaves a whole lot of room for excuses). I mean healthy. Just plain healthy. Why not? Carrying around pounds of excess fat, taking multiple medications, being out of breath, out of shape, out of energy is just&#8230;OUT! Do you have to run a marathon? No.  You have to run your own health before it runs you. </p>
<p>So, it&#8217;s a new year. A new opportunity to live fit and free. Someone in your life needs this message. Will you share it? </p>

Try a new workout. Then try another. Find activities that invigorate you. Get new music. Bust a move. Team up with a friend. Go to a class. Meet other fit people. Subscribe to fitness blogs or magazines. Swap healthy recipes. Schedule your workouts in your planner.  Don&#8217;t cancel. Set a new health goal every month. Reward yourself with something other than dessert. Surround yourself with positive messages. Turn off the television. Put down your smartphone. Make a grocery shopping list. Pack your lunch. Show your child that fitness is important. Don&#8217;t make excuses. Make action. Decide to be the most fit you&#8217;ve been, no matter what your age. Journal. Breath deeper. Love yourself. Care about your health. Believe in your power to change. Stop waiting for life to slow down (it won&#8217;t). </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wearing fitness clothes that make you feel good make you feel even better when you&#8217;re working out!  In fact, I believe you get a better workout when you feel confident, put together and excited about your workout attire.</p>
<p>Here are three things to consider when getting dressed for a workout:</p>
<p><strong>1.     Think Comfort. </strong> You don&#8217;t want to spend time pulling your shirt down, holding your pants up or only giving 50% in class because your attire isn&#8217;t meshing with the moves. Think about what you might be doing during the workout when you pick your outfit.</p>
<p><strong>2.     Protect Yourself.</strong>  You may have a favorite workout tee, or a favorite pair of pants, but pay attention to the fabric.  Cotton absorbs sweat and clings to your skin, blocking your pores.  Invest in clothing that wicks the sweat away from your skin.  This will also help you avoid overheating.</p>
<p><strong>3.     Plan Ahead.</strong>  Every night I pick out what I&#8217;m going to wear for my next day workout.  I&#8217;m excited to wear it, making me even more excited to workout!  Feeling good gives me more confidence in class, and the motivation to push 150%.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Haute ham and eggs!  With the holiday season in full swing, don&#8217;t ruin your party with fresh from the box mini quiches that pack a punch (I&#8217;m talking calories) with all of that extra cheese and pie dough.</p>
<p>Cut it out with my quiche in prosciutto cups.  Not only are they cute, these appetizers are protein-rich, and cutting out the crust makes them incredibly low-carb.</p>
<p>Never tried prosciutto?  It&#8217;s deli ham&#8217;s Italian cousin and by trimming the extra fat from the edge, it is quite healthy. In one serving, you receive 40% of the eye helper Vitamin A. Sure, it&#8217;s not as much as you get from a carrot, but I haven&#8217;t seen anyone happy about a quiche in a carrot cup.</p>

<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<p>-4 slices prosciutto, fat trimmed, halved</p>
<p>-2 egg whites</p>
<p>-1 whole egg</p>
<p>-3 TBSPs nonfat, plain Greek yogurt</p>
<p>-1 TBSP chopped black olives</p>
<p>-1/2 TSP chopped fresh rosemary, plus more for garnish<a href="http://turbotrina.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Prosciutto.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-419 alignright" title="Prosciutto" src="http://turbotrina.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Prosciutto-300x204.jpg" alt="" width="175" height="118" /></a></p>
<p>-1/4 TSP salt</p>
<p>-1/8 TSP freshly ground black pepper</p>
<p><strong>Directions:</strong></p>
<p>Heat oven to 400 degrees.  Coat a mini muffin pan with cooking spray.  Press one piece of prosciutto into each of eight cups. Whisk egg whites and whole egg until smooth. Whisk in yogurt, olives, rosemary, salt and pepper.  Divide mixture among cups.  Bake, uncovered, until quiches are cooked through, 10 to 12 minutes.  Garnish with rosemary.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Recently, my Bay Athletic Club finished a 10-Day Fat Blasting Boot Camp.</p>
<p>As a group, they lost <strong>129.1 lbs!</strong> That&#8217;s incredible. We had at least a dozen people lose more than 7 lbs and every single person lost weight, inches and stomach fat.</p>
<p>Here are some of the success tips and stories I shared with the participants:</p>
<p>I want you to PUSH yourself to try new things and to KEEP the weight off.</p>
<p>Let me keep this simple. Can you stick to TWO things?</p>
<p><strong>1. Strive to get in 30 minutes of exercise (including strength training) on as MANY days of the week as you can.</strong> Some days, you just can&#8217;t make it happen, or need a break. But if you have to plan for it daily, you&#8217;ll likely get in 4 or 5 days. That is still ahead of the game.</p>
<p>I realized that I needed to start planning my own workouts! Sounds funny coming from a health club owner, right? But it&#8217;s true! If I am traveling, or miss a class that I normally teach, I make up for it with an extra workout on my own. I am committed to 4 or 5 workouts per week, every single week. It might only be a 20 minute strength training routine (nothing fancy!), or quick session on an elliptical, but I get it in. I know that intensity of the workout matters more to me than the length of it.</p>
<p><strong>2. You don&#8217;t have to eat perfectly (healthy and clean) 100 percent of the time, but you need to eat 100 percent perfect 80 percent of the time.</strong> That is the advice that my famous fitness mentor Chalene Johnson gave me to take weight off and keep it off…and it has worked.</p>
<p>I honestly plan that 8 out of every 10 meals and snacks will be &#8220;perfect.&#8221; This allows me to splurge on a &#8220;mexican night&#8221; during the week, a flavored latte for an afternoon snack, a more indulgent Sunday brunch or pizza with my kids. I never go completely overboard, it&#8217;s just out of character now, but I let myself enjoy larger portions, or higher calorie meals about 20 percent of the time. The rest of the time, I eat clean (salads, shakeology, P90X bars, fresh fruit, veggies, tuna wrap, grilled salmon, etc) for all of my other meals and snacks. Once I got in this habit, it&#8217;s been easy to maintain. I&#8217;ve been able to take off about 12 lbs. and keep it off. Even with a job in fitness, I have to work on it! It&#8217;s ok – I&#8217;m human.</p>
<p>We are on a journey, right? I, like you, want to say no to junk food, keep my fitness fresh and even sleep more.  But the thing that we ALL have going for ourselves is that we WANT to be on this journey — we care about our health and fitness and are NOT going to get complacent.</p>
<p><strong>RECAP</strong>: Fat Blasting Boot Camp teaches us that regular (intense) exercise and clean eating are LIFE CHANGING!</p>
<p><strong>1. 4-5 WORKOUTS EVERY WEEK – focus on effort/intensity</strong>.<br />
<strong> 2. 100 HEALTHY EATING 80 PERCENT OF THE TIME.</strong></p>

<p>Hello Friends, it’s Trina Gray, owner of Bay Athletic Club, creator of the Corporate Fit Challenge, and a business coach who helps fitness professionals become leaders in their own fitness businesses.</p>
<p>I’m a mom of two, I’m married to a shipwreck archeologist, and I’m a change agent in my community. But don’t hear me wrong. I’m not Wonder Woman! I just have figured out what I do best.</p>
<p>I live in a town of 15,000 people, on a lake in Northeast Michigan. The average household income here is just $29,000. And we have it all: double digit unemployment, diabetes, smoking and obesity rates.</p>
<p>But I have beaten the odds by assembling a world-class team and building a world-class health club that brings sunshine to my community.</p>
<p>How do we do this? We’ve figured out that it’s better to celebrate people more than pounds.</p>
<p>I’m really happy in my career. I spend my summers at a cottage on the lake, I enjoy date night once a week with my husband, and I walk my own two kids to school every morning.</p>
<p>But as a fitness entrepreneur, it has not always been this way. A few years ago it hit me: I was burnt out. I was gaining weight, I was losing sleep, my eating habits were terrible, my relationships were suffering. I was losing sight of why I got in the business.</p>
<p>But remember, I opened my own business so I could be in charge of my own life, not so my life would be running me!</p>
<p>But one morning at 6 A.M., after just 3 hours of sleep, I was leading a boot camp workout, and I brought no energy, no humor, no excitement—nothing that people were used to from me.</p>
<p>I needed to make a change. It was simple, really. I just sought the guidance of those in the industry who were doing better than I was&#8211;who were leading from the top.</p>
<p>I asked their advice, I sought their mentorship, and I put it into action.</p>
<p>Guess what? It has worked for me. Today, my health club is thriving, I’ve opened a second location, my team is growing, and our impact in the community is profound.</p>
<p>I’ve created a corporate wellness program that I sell around the world that makes corporate fitness fun and not so bland.</p>
<p>I own an at home, online fitness business that helps fitness professionals at any level, all over the country, open a business with far less risk and less investment.</p>

<h2>Video Marketing!</h2>
<p>Your videos are working for you while you are NOT.. it&#8217;s a beautiful thing! With video marketing, you&#8217;re exposing who you are and what info, support, help you offer.. rather than SEARCHING for people all the time, you&#8217;ll have them searching for YOU. That is IDEAL and several of you are already experiencing that. Don&#8217;t miss this info.. take notes &amp; use them as a checklist when making videos! She sent additional notes!</p>
<ol>
<li>When you feel you&#8217;re going to say &#8220;um.. &#8221; just say NOTHING and pause instead.</li>
<li>I talk A LOT about the importance of the TITLE of your video. I forgot to mention your BIO video should have your NAME as the title.</li>
<li>In your bio video, and in many other types of videos.. avoid saying &#8220;hey guys&#8230;&#8221; because it implies you&#8217;re talking to a group versus that ONE person who is watching and trying to relate to you. &#8220;Hi my name is.. &#8221; is better as cheesy as it might feel at first. Only say &#8220;hey guys&#8221; if you ARE talking to a group.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My friend and mentor, Chalene Johnson, didn&#8217;t just create top-selling informercials when she created TurboJam and TurboFire, she created a movement, a crusade! The leaders at Beachbody knew that this  fiery chic packed a mean punch in her cute slim-fit capri pants. They also saw that her motivation, her amazing music, her authenticity and her pumped up moves have literally moved hundreds of thousands of people off the couch and into life.</p>
<p>But what we&#8217;ve all come to realize is that she&#8217;s more that a fitness rock star &#8212; she&#8217;s a savvy business woman, devoted wife, loyal friend and hands-on mother of two kids. She makes us all better in those areas with her no-nonsense advice. Here is my list (off the top of my head!) of what I&#8217;ve learned from Chalene. Read carefully, each of these could change your life.</p>
<ul>
<li>Know your priorties.</li>
<li>Write them down.</li>
<li>Create a daily list.</li>
<li>Say &#8220;no.&#8221; </li>
<li>Stay true to yourself.</li>
<li>Love your family.</li>
<li>Stop dieting.</li>
<li>Pick your friends wisely.</li>
<li>Protect your energy.</li>
<li>Give more to your workouts.</li>
<li>Make peace with people.</li>
<li>Listen more.</li>
<li>Talk less.</li>
<li>Be real.</li>
<li>Get therapy.</li>
</ul>
<p>As a business owner, I learned one other key piece of advice from Chalene that has truly made me hundreds of thousands of dollars and taken me farther than I could have imagined in my community and my career.<br />
What is it? &#8220;Fitness is a party and you have to invite people to it.&#8221;</p>
<p>It means so much more than those simple words. To me, it means that fitness should be a benefit in our life, not a burden. It means that moving to music just feels good. It means that everyone loves to party &#8212; our job is to create the opportunity for them to do it. It means that people are scared and skeptical and need to be invited to fitness with a smile. It means that fitness isn&#8217;t exclusive.  It means that every day is a great day for a party.</p>
<p>I have created an award-winning health club, a thriving coaching business and lead a world-class team. I carry Chalene&#8217;s advice in my head and heart daily.<br />
